Frequently Asked Questions
Home & Family Concierge provides personalized, non-medical support for older adults, families, and homeowners throughout Milwaukie and the greater Portland area. Home & Family Concierge is different than other home care service in three important ways. First, I offer great flexibility rather than four-hour blocks and set schedules.
Next, you always know who will be showing up to care for your loved one: Me. One trusted local person.
Also, most other services will give personal care or oversee the house, but not both. I do both.

Home & Family Concierge serves Milwaukie and select communities throughout the greater Portland area, including Southeast Portland, Lake Oswego, West Linn, Happy Valley, and nearby neighborhoods. I can also serve clients in the greater Portland Metro area, but a small mileage fee might apply. Send me a message with your address and I can give you exact pricing information.

Yes. Home & Family Concierge was created specifically for that in-between stage. Your parent may be fully capable of living independently but could use help with errands, appointments, household tasks, transportation, or simply having a trusted local person available when needed.
-
Yes. My goal is to make independent living easier by helping with the practical details that can become more difficult over time. Support can include errands, appointments, household projects, transportation, companionship, and help coordinating services around the home. There isn’t a list of specific services you have to choose from. My care plans are specific to each client.
-
Yes. Transportation support can include driving clients to medical appointments, shopping, errands, hair appointments, social activities, and other local destinations. I am properly licensed and insured for client transportation. I may also simply arrange the transportation for them, or accompany them via Uber if that is more comfortable. We’ll discuss what you need and find a solution.
-
Absolutely. Home & Family Concierge can serve as your trusted local person when you cannot be there. In fact, this scenario is how I first got started. We can help with appointments, errands, household needs, check-ins, vendor coordination, and other practical concerns that are difficult to manage from a distance.
-
Yes. That is one of the things that makes Home & Family Concierge different. I can assist with both personal needs and household needs, so families do not have to coordinate several different people for errands, appointments, home projects, deliveries, and general oversight.
-
Yes. Home watch is a service available for homeowners who are traveling, away seasonally, or simply want someone local keeping an eye on their property. Visits may include checking the home, handling packages, watering plants, coordinating vendors, and watching for potential problems.
-
No. Home & Family Concierge provides non-medical support. I do not provide skilled nursing, medication administration, bathing, toileting, wound care, or other services that require a licensed healthcare provider or traditional caregiver.
-
No. Flexibility is one of the main benefits of my service. You may need one hour one week and several the next. Hours can be used based on appointments, errands, projects, travel, or whatever comes up. There is a one hour minimum per visit, but that is the only restriction.
-
Every client is different, but services may include grocery shopping, errands, transportation, companionship, appointments, returns, household organization, vendor coordination, watering plants, pet-related tasks, deliveries, home checks, and other everyday needs. If you have a question about if a specific task is something I can help with, just message to ask.
-
Home & Family Concierge offers several service options depending on the amount and type of support needed, including a bank of hours and monthly concierge plans. Personal-support clients begin with a free consult so we can get to know each other, understand your needs, and make sure the service is a good fit. See the Services page for all the details.
-
Start by contacting Home & Family Concierge and telling me a little about your situation, where your loved one or home is located, and the kind of help you are considering. From there, we can determine whether my services are a good fit and discuss the next steps.
-
Yes, that is exactly the type of situation Home Watch was developed for. Use us when you need it, with no obligation to continue services once you’re home again. Perfect for snowbirds and people who travel a lot.
-
No. Although Home and Family Concierge was developed out of a need for Seniors, we can also help busy professionals, parents and students who just need help running errands or taking care of the house.
